One of the best ways to connect with people on the internet is by sharing your picture. I have read that by having a smiling photo of yourself on Twitter, you are much more likely to gain followers. While getting your logo out there can be very important, people want to know that there is a real person behind that Twitter account.
The same goes for blogs too. It can be very helpful to have a picture of yourself on your about me page (which I need to remedy myself). Another way is by using a Gravatar. Just what is a Gravatar? Perhaps you have seen some mention of it on the backend of your WordPress blog. Or noticed that in the comments on some blogs (such as this one) a picture of the commenter will appear.
Gravatar is a free service that pairs your email address with a picture that you upload on the Gravatar website. Now whenever you comment on a Gravatar enabled blog, this picture will automatically be included with your comment. It is very easy to set up and the website walks you through the process.
If you have not already visit Gravatar and set up your free account today. Then come back here and comment to show off your picture. I’m guessing if people are more likely to follow a Twitter account with a smiling picture, then they are probably more likely to follow your comment back to your blog or website too. And enable it easily on your WordPress blog too. Just visit the settings tab & click on Discussion. Scroll down to the bottom to enable them.
