I just got done watching the third video in Andy Jenkin’s Video Boss series. He is giving away some great content and I have already downloaded the first 3 videos so that I can watch them all again later.
The first half of this video is devoted to Andy sharing little tidbits on how to create a video, add cool zoom ins & tilts, picking out a music soundtrack, and how to make your voice sound great on the video. It starts with a funny little parody of the Google Super Bowl ad and then he shows how he put it together.
The second half of the video talks about getting traffic to your video. First he gives a tip on the file and codec type for your videos when you will be uploading them to video sharing sites. Then he talks about video size and bit rate. He shares a video uploading service that will then share & upload your video with 2 dozen other sites, and give you analytics on the videos.
The real key to this video is when he starts talking about getting backlinks to your videos and which of the major video sharing sites you should focus your efforts with at first and why. A little tip here is that he repurposes the content from his video into a blog post and adds a link back to the video. He also shares a list of places that you can post links to the video as well. And you don’t want to forget bookmarking and PR releases.
I love his transparency at the end of this video too. He comes right out and talks a bit about his product he is launching this week and what you can learn from it. He is very adamant that Video Boss is going to be for a select group of people. You have to admire how he steps out of the guru persona there. Personally I don’t think I will be joining, but I have learned so much from his free videos, that it is definitely going to help me out.
