In just under two weeks (note to self – start making a list!) I will be heading to Las Vegas for Affiliate Summit West. I’m very excited as it is my first time attending and a long time since I have been to such a big conference. I have heard that there will be over 4,000 attendees and over 130 exhibitors.
The conference is a combination of vendor tables where affiliates and merchants can meet, speakers, and sessions for learn more about our industry and improve on the way you do business. There is even a handy scheduling tool to create a customized calendar for all of the events and sessions.
I have heard that some of the best events happen outside of the conference and I am wondering just when I am going to fit in sleeping. There are after parties hosted by Shareasale, charity events such as Bowling for Boobs and something right up my alley: a trivia contest. Missy Ward has a complete list of events on her blog.
Seeing as how it is my first time at Affiliate Summit I signed up for their mentor program. I was assigned a mentor to help me out, so that will be very helpful. I’ll know a number of people attending, but having someone I can ask questions of and meet with for lunch one day will be immensely helpful.
I have heard that having business cards, a poken, and the Bump app on your iPhone is absolutely indispensible for an event like this. I hope t post some updates from the show here on the blog and definitely on Twitter. Make sure you are following me to keep track.
