Affiliate Summit West 2013 is just a little over a week away and I am making my list of things to bring with me. I’m a “be prepared” kind of gal, so these are the things I’ll be stuffing my suitcase with:
- My lipbalm. Las Vegas is dry and being inside a hotel/conference center all day is even more so. I definitely will not be leaving home without it.
- Hand sanitizer. Shaking hands with lots of people brings out the germaphobe in me. Definitely a good idea to keep from getting the conference crud. Which leads me to item number:
- Emergen-C. I love these packets of vitamin C and other vitamins to help boost my immune system. I just add them to my bottle of water, shake it up and drink. A definite must have.
- Business Cards. Have more than you think you will need, it is a great way to exchange information. At minimum your business card should have your name, email, and phone number. Try to include your website, twitter, Facebook, etc to give people more ways to connect with you. I put mine inside my conference pass, so they are readily available. And make sure they are unique! - Comfortable Shoes. It is a lot of time on your feet, this is definitely a comfort before style sort of event.
- A Notebook. Yes I’ll have my laptop with me, as I will be live blogging some of the sessions, but nothing beats a notebook for writing things down and brainstorming. I prefer a nice Moleskine with the pages numbered and and an index in the front (a tip that I really wish I could remember where I got it from).
- A Schedule. I will print one out to go over on the plane, so that I can firm up plans of where I want to go, sessions to attend, companies that I want to meet with, etc.
I’m really excited to be going to Affiliate Summit West and can’t believe it is almost here. The conference is sold out, but I do know they may have some passes available as cancellations come in. There are also usually a few Affiliate Summit West passes on eBay.
